How does the cost of pavers compare to alternatives?

On a square foot by square foot basis, the cheapest option for your patio or driveway is grey concrete or black asphalt.

Those aren’t the most attractive, obviously, but they’re the cheapest. After those options, pavers are the most economical option if you want something decorative. On the low side, for pavers alone, you’re looking at $5.50 per square foot, up to $12.00 per square foot. Colored concrete and stamped concrete are alternatives to pavers. Those will run $6.00 on the low side, up to $10.00 per square foot.
